This Technical Specification explains how to tag objects and properties in an IFC model with IFD Library
information. It standardizes the way this shall be done both in IFC 2x3 and 2x4 and includes illustrations
and examples for different use cases. This is done using existing concepts within the IFC standard. It is
not within this scope to define how the IFD Library information or the IFC model is produced, but how to
connect the two. IFD information in an IFC model enriches the model with more precise data.
This Technical Specification is expected to be useful for software developers and technical personnel.
The description of IFC and IFD in general is not within the scope of this Technical Specification.
